Seminole State provides instructors with multiple options for proctoring online assessments.

- Lockdown Browser by Respondus
- Lockdown Browser with Monitor (by Respondus)
The three options listed represent three possibilities for creating a more secure testing environment online. Each option has its merits and limitations. The solution you choose depends largely on the outcomes you are seeking in your course.
Using Respondus Lockdown Browser only would be considered a basic security level and Proctorio considered an advanced security level. Respondus Lockdown + Respondus Monitor represents the middle ground. Remember the proctoring solutions must be combined with secure settings, thoughtful question set-up, and post-exam review by the instructor to be truly effective in preventing academic misconduct.
Proctorio
Proctorio is a browser-based proctoring platform. It is compatible with Windows, Macs, and Chromebooks.
Lockdown Browser
Lockdown Browser is a separate browser that students download. Lockdown Browser is compatible with Windows and Mac; it is not compatible with Chromebooks.
