Introduction to LockDown Browser

Add LockDown Browser to your course

To add LockDown Browser to your Canvas course navigation
  1. Click Settings
  2. Click Navigation
  3. Enable Lockdown Browser
  4. Click Save. Lockdown Browser will now appear in the course navigation (only visible to instructors)

Respondus Monitor

Respondus Monitor® builds upon the power of LockDown Browser, using a student’s webcam and video analytics during non-proctored exams.

To use Respondus Monitor with Lockdown Browser,
Select Require Respondus Monitor for this exam [1].
Uncheck the following Facial Detection Options [2].
  1. [Uncheck] Prevent students from starting the exam if face cannot be detected during Startup Sequence.
  2. [Uncheck] Notify students during the exam if face cannot be detected.
