There are times when you may need to remove a part of the active speaker video in a Zoom recording that has been uploaded to Panopto. These times may include when a student's video or name appears in the video. To remove part of the active speaker video if the Panopto video has not been edited.
Open the Panopto Editor
Click Edit on the desired Panopto recording.

Download the audio podcast to your video
Click Settings in the upper right-hand corner of the session.
Click Outputs [1], scroll down, and click Download Audio Podcast [2].
In the File name box [1], add audio- to the front of the file name (e.g. audio-ZoomRecording.mp4) and save the file to your computer [2].
Close the Settings window
Add the audio-podcast to the original session as another Primary Stream
Click Streams [1].
Click Add Primary Stream [2].
Upload the audio-...MP4 to the Primary Audio box [3]. You can either drag and drop the file or click the box to upload it. The audio-.mp4 will appear as another stream in the editor.
Click at the start of the desired part of the video to be removed.
If necessary, use the Zoom tool to zoom in on the timeline editor.
Click the Focus button [1], then click and drag over the new audio-only stream where the video portion should not appear [2]. The P2 stream's color changes from gray to white. This color change indicates the focus has changed from the primary video stream (P1) to the audio stream (P2).
Play the video to make sure the desired area has been removed and make any adjustments as necessary. Repeat this process to remove additional parts of the video.
Click Apply when done.
